Resumo: The purpose of this study were: to verify if the proposed changes in high school reform really caused changes to the pedagogic action of the PE teacher acting in Jundiaí-SP; to know who is this teacher; and to map the main difficulties teachers have at this level of high school. The analisys of the results showed that the changes proposed by federal goverment didn’t cause changes in the pedagogic action of the PE teacher graduated in Jundiaí. The PE classes are given at the same period that others one, and their main content is sport. The main difficulties teachers have to face are lack of courses and qualifications tailored to high school. Teachers main needs are: a great support from the goverment related to courses and qualifications and the increasing of classes for high school.

Teachers main needs are: a great support from the goverment related to courses and qualifications and the increasing of classes for high school.O propósito deste estudo foi: verificar se as mudanças propostas na reforma do ensino médio propiciaram alterações na ação pedagógica do professor de Educação Física atuante na cidade de Jundiaí - SP; conhecer quem é esse professor; e mapear as principais dificuldades dos professores nesta etapa da escolarização básica. A análise dos resultados mostrou que as reformas propostas pelo governo federal não propiciaram alterações na ação pedagógica do professor de Educação Física. As aulas de Educação Física são ministradas no mesmo período que as demais e o principal conteúdo das mesmas é o esporte coletivo. As maiores dificuldades dos professores são a inexistência de bons trabalhos no ensino fundamental e a falta de cursos e capacitações orientados para o ensino médio.
