Resumo: In the uprising of 1932, the journal O Estado de S. Paulo had prominence when it announced with eloquence informations of war which was convenient and, mainly, participating of the articulation that should result in the entrenchment. However, the action of this periodic in the conjecture is not limited itself in a manipulation of the news, or is just derivates of the director’s politic project. In the “Constitutional Revolution”, O Estado de S. Paulo acted like the elite’s spokesman. In this context, therefore, I intend make some questions about the participation of this journal in the uprising of 1932, emphasizing his condition like source and object to production of historical knowledge.

Entretanto, a atuação do periódico na conjuntura não se resume à manipulação da notícia ou deriva meramente do projeto político de seus diretores. Na “Revolução Constitucionalista” O Estado de S. Paulo agiu como o porta-voz da elite paulista. Neste texto, portanto, pretendo problematizar a participação do jornal O Estado de S.
