Resumo: This paper discusses the pathemic process through the iconicity in poetic semiosis. According to Charaudeau (2000), this process that brings out emotions from is linked to socio-discursive representations disseminated by human interaction. However, the iconicity (PEIRCE, 2003; JAKOBSON, s/d; SANTAELLA, 2000; SANTAELLA e NÖTH, 2005; PIGNATARI 2004a, 2004b), which causes significant approximations based on similarity, also encourage exacerbated feelings and sensations, by revealing the common Quality of approximate elements. The poetic semiosis, because of its intense significant motivation, becomes a favorable environment for the pathemic process to occur, then, two namesake poems of Arnaldo Antunes, titled "Agora" (1990 and 1993), serve as the corpus to analyze.
