USE OF MOBILE APPLICATIONS (APPS) FOR THE VISUAL DISABLED: accessible learning possibilities

ABSTRACT: The use of mobile devices, such as "smartphones", for example, has stood out in national surveys. With increasing demand, there has been a significant increase in the development of services and resources, such as mobile applications (Apps), catering to various needs (leisure, culture, education, etc.) and public, including people with disabilities. From this perspective, this article analyzes the accessible learning possibilities made possible by the use of Apps by Impaired Vision (DV). Through a qualitative approach, this bibliographic study with a survey of diverse sources of information shares the expressive emphasis attributed to the multiple educational facets provided through the use of mobile technology services by the public with DV, a significant portion of the Brazilian population, as expressed in the results of the last Census (2010). It presents the description of some Apps that can be used for the educational development of DV, as well as analyzes their potential use by these subjects. In sum, it considers that these technologies, when used in a cohesive way by the Impaired Vision, translate into a narrow path to their learning process. On the other hand, it still needs incentives and, mainly, clarifications for the proper uses and developments.   KEY WORDS: Mobile applications (Apps). Impaired Vision. Learning.
