PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND INCLUSION: NARRATIVES OF UNDERGRADUATES WITH VISUAL IMPAIRMENT

Resumo: | With the advent of educational inclusion, the presence of people with disabilities in higher education has been observed and requires attention. Different strategies to conduct this inclusive teaching process have been discussed in the literature. They are propositions of strategies, characteristics of pedagogical resources and instructions that aim to assist people with visual impairment. In this study, we sought to listen to three visually impaired students attending a Physical Education undergraduate course in order to know their perceptions about inclusion in higher education. The narratives collected in this study were recorded in a field journal and analyzed descriptively. The narratives raised reflections about teacher education and its implications in the inclusive process. The study reveals the adoption of inflexible methodologies, indifference, curtailment of experiences, and negligence in the support to people with disabilities. It showed the emerging need for continued training for teachers, managers and employees and the construction of effectively inclusive educational plans in higher education. |

Diferentes estratégias de condução desse processo de ensino inclusivo têm sido discutidas na literatura. São proposições de estratégias, características de recursos pedagógicos e instruções que visam atender pessoas com deficiência visual. Nesse estudo, buscamos escutar três estudantes com deficiência visual que cursam graduação em Educação Física afim de conhecer suas percepções sobre a inclusão no ensino superior. As coletas das narrativas desse estudo foram registradas em diário de campo e analisadas de forma descritiva. As narrativas suscitaram reflexões acerca da formação docente e suas implicações no processo inclusivo. O estudo revela a adoção de metodologias inflexíveis, indiferença, cerceamento das experiências e negligência nos suportes à pessoa com deficiência.
