The place of the librarian and school library of the Brazilian Base Nacional Comum Curricular

Resumo: This research seeks to broaden the debate and reflection around the question: Are there elements in the Brazilian Base Nacional Comum Curricular that allow us to evidence the insertion of the school library and the librarian in the formal educational process? This research aims to verify in the Brazilian Base Nacional Comum Curricular the existence of elements that allow pointing this inclusion in interlocution with the Guidelines of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions. Regarding the methodological approach, this is a basic research that is based on the premise that its result enables a practical application. It is classified as documentary research because it seeks to select and interpret documents that from a certain perspective have not been analytically examined by researchers, revealing their characteristics. The results found show that no chapter specifically talks about school libraries and/or their role. In the 600 pages of the document, the term "library" explicitly appears only in two situations that specifically refer to educational practices. It was concluded that, although the Brazilian Base Nacional Comum Curricular advocates the valuing and the problematization of the experiences of the students lived in various out-of-class environments, such as the library, it does not bring the insertion of the school library and the librarian in the formal educational process.

O estudo tem como objetivo verificar na Base Nacional Comum Curricular a existência de elementos que permitam apontar essa inclusão em interlocução com as Diretrizes da Federação Internacional de Associações e Instituições Bibliotecárias. Com relação a abordagem metodológica, trata-se de uma pesquisa de natureza básica, pois assenta-se na premissa de que o seu resultado possibilita uma aplicação prática e como pesquisa documental, por buscar selecionar e interpretar documentos que, sob determinado ponto de vista, não foram examinados analiticamente por pesquisadores, objetivando revelar suas características. Os resultados encontrados demonstram que não existe um capítulo que fale especificamente das bibliotecas escolares e/ou sobre seu papel. Nas 600 páginas do documento, o termo “biblioteca” aparece explicitamente somente em duas situações que remetem especificamente às práticas educativas.
