A MILITARIZAÇÃO DAS ESCOLAS PÚBLICAS NO BRASIL E AS DISCUSSÕES SOBRE A EDUCAÇÃO EM VALORES E O CLIMA ESCOLAR: UM BALANÇO DE PRODUÇÃO

The movement for militarization of Brazilian public schools resumes its forces in mid-2019, post-presidential election. Thus, from Decree No. 9,465 of January  2nd 2019, the federal government creates the Undersecretariat for the Promotion of Civic-Military Schools in order to implement a school model (militarized or civic-military) that refers to the considered high level of education, in the army standards (military schools). Thus, understanding the peculiarities of this movement, this article aimed at drawing an overview about the scientific papers on the militarization of Brazilian public schools and the factors interrelated to the school climate, with a five-year timeframe in mind (2018-2022). For this purpose, a review of scientific papers was carried out in two databases (CAPES Periodicals and SciELO), selecting from combined descriptors 18 articles published in peer-reviewed journals to direct the reflections about the theme presented initially. It is concluded that the movement of militarization of Brazilian public schools is linked to political/ideological issues, having as "background" the idea of a movement for the reduction of violence in schools inserted in contexts of social vulnerability, being necessary the constant defense of a democratic education that is strongly threatened.
