Resumo: This is an excerpt from the research which investigates the use of the pedagogical press in the dissemination of representations in the context of the rural school. It seeks to identify the influence of pedagogical ruralism on the practices of rural communities in Caxias do Sul-RS. The study's problematization revolves around the meanings made possible by the journal around the disseminated prescriptions. The object of the study - the Despertar was produced by the teaching agency of that locality, between the years 1947 and 1954. The research methodology was the historical documentary analysis; and, the theoretical contribution was based in Cultural History on the concepts of representation. As a result, the understanding that the Despertar was a strategy for the propagation of agreed guidelines to the ruralist precepts, that evidenced expectations of the municipal management in relation to the transformation of the practices in those localities.

Este es un extracto de la investigación que propone indagar sobre el uso de la prensa pedagógica en la difusión de representaciones en el ámbito rural, este estudio busca identificar la influencia del ruralismo pedagógico en las prácticas desarrolladas en el contexto de la escuela rural en Caxias do Sul. El problema rector de la investigación es: A la vista de la comunidad rural, ¿qué significados posibilitó esta revista para la comprensión de los modelos y prescripciones difundidos sobre la educación rural, en el contexto de Caxias do Sul. El objeto del estudio - Despertar, es un periódico de la Dirección de Educación Publica de Caxias do Sul, que circuló entre 1947 y 1954. Como método de investigación, análisis de documentos; y el aporte teórico se ubica en Historia Cultural en torno a los conceptos de representación. En consecuencia, se puede considerar que el Despertar fue un aparato estratégico para la propagación de orientaciones en las zonas rurales, de acuerdo con los preceptos ruralistas y, además, que cooperó para la transformación del trabajo realizado en estos lugares.Este é um excerto de pesquisa que investiga o uso da imprensa pedagógica na disseminação de representações no contexto da escola rural. Busca-se identificar a influência do ruralismo pedagógico nas práticas das comunidades rurais em Caxias do Sul-RS. A problematização do estudo gira em torno dos sentidos possibilitados pelo periódico sobre as prescrições disseminadas. O objeto do estudo – o Despertar foi produzido pelo órgão de ensino da referida localidade, entre os anos 1947 e 1954.  A metodologia de pesquisa foi a análise documental histórica; e, o aporte teórico situou-se na História Cultural sobre os conceitos de representação.
