Resumo: This article analyzes the formative aspects of two great ideals of formation that marked the history of Western education: the Greek Paideia and the German Bildung. From the historical perspective, based on Karl Marx’s (1818-1883) omnilaterality concept and Theodor Adorno's (1903-1969) theory of semiformation, we aim to redeem the origins and philosophical fundaments of formative utopias, emphasizing its relevance in the constitution of a critical and emancipatory political education in the context of contemporaneity.

A partir de la perspectiva histórica, tomando como base el concepto de omnilateralidad de Karl Marx (1818-1883) y la teoría de la semiformación de Theodor Adorno (1903-1969), rescatamos los orígenes y los fundamentos filosóficos de las utopías formativas, resaltando su relevancia en la constitución de una educación política de carácter crítico y emancipatorio en el contexto de la contemporaneidad.O presente artigo analisa os aspectos formativos de dois grandes ideais de formação que marcaram a história da educação ocidental: a Paideia grega e a Bildung alemã.
