Pedagogical advisories and their institutional role at the University of the Republic, Uruguay (2012-2021)

Resumo: | The pedagogical consultancies of the University of the Republic (Udelar) of Uruguay, show a continuous development in a process of installation and consolidation that meets several different stages over more than 50 years. The creation of teaching support units in faculties, institutes and schools responds to the need to provide advice and teacher training in teaching and evaluation methodologies. From that moment on, these units debate central issues: pedagogical innovation, student attention and support for curricular development. These points make up the axes of the educational policy of the entire institution. In the period considered, between 2012 and 2021, already consolidated as academic structures at Udelar, the teaching support units played a fundamental role in sustaining education during the health emergency caused by Covid-19, prioritizing their institutional role. The article focuses on the current characteristics of the pedagogical consultancies and their role in Udelar: structure, functions performed and profile of the advisers, without ignoring the consolidation process they have undergone in recent years, reconstructing their historicity, establishing moments and characteristics of each of the periods. A descriptive qualitative study was carried out using documentary analysis and a survey of members of the teaching support units as techniques. This study allowed an update of some previously collected data and incorporated a perception of those surveyed about the institutional role and the assessment of these academic structures. |

A criação de unidades de apoio ao ensino (UAE) em faculdades, institutos e escolas responde à necessidade de aconselhamento e formação de professores em metodologias de ensino e avaliação. A partir desse momento, estas unidades debatem questões centrais: inovação pedagógica, atenção aos alunos e apoio ao desenvolvimento curricular. Esses pontos compõem os eixos da política educacional de toda a instituição. No período considerado, entre 2012 e 2021, já consolidadas como estruturas acadêmicas na Udelar, as UAE desempenharam um papel fundamental na sustentação da educação durante a emergência sanitária causada pela Covid-19, priorizando a sua função institucional. O artigo enfoca as características atuais das assessorias pedagógicas e seu papel na Udelar: estrutura, funções desempenhadas e perfil dos assessores, sem ignorar o processo de consolidação por que passaram nos últimos anos, reconstruindo sua historicidade, estabelecendo momentos e características de cada um dos períodos. Foi realizado um estudo qualitativo descritivo utilizando-se como técnicas a análise documental e uma pesquisa com membros das UAEs. Este estudo permitiu atualizar alguns dados anteriormente coletados e incorporou uma percepção dos participantes sobre o papel institucional e a avaliação dessas estruturas acadêmicas.Las asesorías pedagógicas de la Universidad de la República (Udelar) de Uruguay muestran un continuo desarrollo en un proceso de instalación y de consolidación que cumple varias etapas diferenciadas a lo largo de más de 50 años. La creación de unidades de apoyo a la enseñanza (UAE) en facultades, institutos y escuelas responde a la necesidad de brindar asesoramiento y formación docente en metodologías de enseñanza y de evaluación. Desde ese momento, estas unidades ponen en debate temas centrales: la innovación pedagógica, la atención estudiantil y el apoyo al desarrollo curricular. Estos puntos conforman los ejes de la política educativa de toda la institución. En el período considerado, entre 2012 y 2021, ya consolidadas como estructuras académicas en la Udelar, las UAE tuvieron un papel fundamental en el sostenimiento de la enseñanza durante la emergencia sanitaria por Covid-19, jerarquizando su rol institucional. El artículo se focaliza en las características actuales de las asesorías pedagógicas y su papel en la Udelar: estructura, funciones desempeñadas y perfil de los asesores, sin desconocer el proceso de consolidación que tuvieron en los últimos años, reconstruyendo su historicidad, estableciendo momentos y características de cada uno de los períodos. Se realizó un estudio cualitativo descriptivo utilizándose como técnicas el análisis documental y una encuesta a integrantes de las UAE.
