Resumo: This article aims to contribute to the special volume of Cadernos de Estudos Linguísticos, for the celebration of its 45 years. The text results from the collaborative work of two professors of the Department of Linguistics, Institute of Language Studies), in the field of Neurolinguistics and is organized in two main parts. In the first part, the text seeks to present the beginning of the process of developing of our research field, based on the fundant work of Coudry, which culminated with publication of “Diário de Narciso”: discourse and afasia, establishing and consolidating Discursive Neurolinguistics (DN) as a new field for the theoretical work of Linguistics. In the second part, the article reports some of the main theoretical-methodological developments of Discursive Neurolinguistics for the áreas of Linguistics, Speech Therapy and Education, revisting works dedicated either to the theories that DN agregates and to the pratices with language, proposed to approach the various pathologies that affect language, being some of them highlighted, such as Aphasia, Autism and X-Fragile Syndrome. In our neurolinguistic studies, we seek to understand the relationship among the various higher psychic functions, and their impact on the pathologies, while we also incorporate the ‘subject’ as well as his discursive activity in the analyzes. We also address the theme of linguistic evaluation and longitudinal follow-up, which cannot be aparted from the theoretical-methodological reflection made possible by Linguistics.

El texto es fruto del trabajo colaborativo de dos profesores del Departamento de Lingüística del IEL, en el área de Neurolingüística, y está organizado en dos partes. En la primera, buscamos presentar el inicio del proceso de desarrollo de la nueva área en IEL, a partir del trabajo fundacional de Coudry que culminó con la publicación de Diario de Narciso: discurso y afasia, estableciendo y consolidando la Neurolingüística Discursiva como un campo teórico y como un posible área de acción para el lingüista. En la segunda parte, el texto recoge algunos de los principales desarrollos teórico-metodológicos de la DE para los campos de la Lingüística, la Patología del Habla-Lenguaje y la Audiología y la Educación, revisando trabajos que se dedican al estudio tanto de las teorías que aporta DN como de las prácticas con el lenguaje propuestas para tratar las diversas patologías que, de alguna manera, impactan en el funcionamiento del lenguaje, como Afasia, Demencia, Autismo, entre otros. En nuestros estudios, buscamos comprender este funcionamiento en patologías, incorporando al sujeto en su actividad discursiva en los análisis. También discutimos conceptos erróneos de la evaluación del lenguaje y la terapéutica separados de la reflexión teórico-metodológica hecha posible por la lingüística.Este artigo visa a contribuir para o volume especial da Cadernos de Estudos Linguísticos que homenageia os seus 45 anos. O texto resulta do trabalho colaborativo de duas docentes do Departamento de Linguística do IEL, na área de Neurolinguística, e se organiza em duas partes principais. Na primeira, busca-se apresentar o início do processo de desenvolvimento da nova área no IEL, a partir do trabalho fundante de Coudry que culminou na publicação de Diário de Narciso: discurso e afasia, estabelecendo e consolidando a Neurolinguística Discursiva como campo teórico de atuação para o linguista. Na segunda parte, o texto relata alguns dos principais desdobramentos teórico-metodológicos da ND para os campos da Linguística, da Fonoaudiologia e da Educação, revisitando trabalhos que se dedicam ao estudo tanto de teorias que a ND agrega quanto de práticas com a linguagem propostas para as várias patologias que afetam a linguagem, sendo algumas delas focalizadas, como as Afasias, o Autismo, a Síndrome do X-Frágil. Em nossos estudos neurolinguísticos, buscamos compreender a relação entre as funções psíquicas superiores e seu impacto nas patologias ao mesmo tempo em que incorporamos nas análises o sujeito em sua atividade discursiva.
