Resumo: This paper is based on research, funded by CNPq, which examines the perceptions and experiences of female professors and students about gender relations in academic life in traditionally masculine fields, with a focus on physics. The research field is a federal university in Brazil’s Northeast and the methodological procedures involved interviews, after mapping the distribution of professors and students by sex. The results show women’s difficulties, as professors and students, in being included in the field.

The results show women’s difficulties, as professors and students, in being included in the field. O texto se baseia em pesquisa financiada pelo CNPq interessada nas percepções e experiências de docentes e discentes mulheres sobre as relações de gênero na vida acadêmica em campos tradicionalmente masculinos, fazendo o recorte da Física. O campo de investigação é uma universidade federal nordestina e o procedimento metodológico envolveu entrevistas, a partir do mapeamento da distribuição de docentes e discentes por sexo.
