Resumo: This paper shows part of the Theory of Didactic Situations of Guy Brousseauand presents characterizations regarding the use of theory when teaching sequences areprepared to allow the autonomy of the learner in constructing their knowledge. It providesfavorable conditions for the teacher to, among other tasks, develop, implement, monitor andperform analysis when preparing a teaching sequence in which the student is invited toconstruct knowledge related to a mathematical content, without the direct interference of theteacher in this building. The teacher and the student sign a contract in which the studentteaching undertakes, with the teacher as mediator, to appropriate knowledge, the teacher proposes to the student in carrying out the proposed activities in the teaching sequence.

Ela proporciona condições favoráveis ao professor para, entre outras tarefas, elaborar, aplicar, acompanhar e realizar análises, quando elabora uma sequência didática em que o aluno é convidado a construir saberes relativos a um conteúdo matemático, sem a interferência direta do professor nessa construção.
