Resumo: | This investigation aims to analyze how students and professor conceiveaspects related to acquisition, construction and interpretation of senses or meanings,produced or exposed while studying and teaching in an Analytic Geometry coursefor Mathematics Undergraduate students at the State University of Feira de Santana -BA. For this purpose, a research is carried out based on ethnographical practice,considering the proposal and argument that an environment is constituted by amulticultural cognitive universe or even by a micro-society, rich in the production ofmeanings. Thus, the method of observation places the researcher in a estrangementposition, aiming at an impartial view. In this context, it is admitted that graphicalrepresentations carry along psychological and sociological factors, perceptive,cognitive and affective schemes, and also that social and cultural factors are directlyrelated to multiple interpretations concerning a geometrical, mathematical andsymbolical element. |

E analisa a forma como alunos e professor de uma turma do curso de Licenciatura em Matemática da Universidade Estadual de Feira de Santana/BA concebem, em aulas de geometria analítica, aspectos relativos à aquisição, à construção e à interpretação dos sentidos ou significados ali produzidos ou expostos. Utilizam-se observações em que o pesquisador se coloca em uma posição de estranhamento e de busca pela imparcialidade. Admite-se que as representações gráficas carregam fatores psicológicos, sociológicos, esquemas perceptivos, cognitivos e afetivos específicos e que os fatores sociais e culturais estão diretamente relacionados às múltiplas interpretações acerca de um ente geométrico, matemático e simbólico.
