Resumo: The proposal to organize this dossier appeared in the second half of 2016, as a way to create a record of the different perspectives on the events that occurred throughout the year, and that could be usedas support in future research and reflections on this period, which was historically marked by the impeachment process of the former president-elect Dilma Rousseff, followed by her removal; protests against the holding of the world cup; and the arrest of Rafael Braga, a recyclable material collector who carried a bottle of cleaning product in the context of the protests in Rio de Janeiro. These latest facts, together with the disappearance of bricklayer Amarildo de Souza in 2013 and the murder of Claudia Silva Ferreira in 2014, scandalized the situation of mass incarceration and genocide of the black and peripheral population and the precarious process in public education in the country.

Estos últimos hechos, junto con la desaparición del albañil Amarildo de Souza en 2013 y el asesinato de Claudia Silva Ferreira en 2014, escandalizaron la situación de encarcelamiento masivo y genocidio de la población negra y periférica y el precario proceso de la educación pública en el país.A proposta de organizar este dossiê surgiu no segundo semestre de 2016, como forma de criar um registro das diferentes perspectivas sobre os acontecimentos ocorridos ao longo do ano, e que pudesse ser utilizado como apoio nas pesquisas e reflexões futuras sobre este período, que ficou historicamente marcado pelo processo de votação do impeachment da ex presidenta eleita Dilma Rousseff, seguido de seu afastamento; pelos protestos contra a realização da copa do mundo; e a prisão de Rafael Braga, um catador de material reciclável que portava uma garrafa de produto de limpeza no contexto dos protestos no Rio de Janeiro.
