The professional education on the Lulism agenda: visibility and limitations of corporate interests

Resumo: | Vocational education in the PT governments has taken on singular importance, presented by President Lula from his own experience, since the only title he had at the time was that of SENAI’s mechanical turner. The expansion and internalization of vocational education, starting with the MEC, went through 13 years of PT governments in the Lula and Dilma governments and was even the subject of national debate during the presidential campaign with Pronatec. The emphasis on professional education has meant that in less than 10 years the PT governments have built more federal vocational schools than in 120 years of the Republic. It is a historical coincidence that the very creator of the first federal schools, at 1909, was also a president, Nilo Peçanha, with characteristics close to the origins of Lula. This text makes explicit the developmentalism mark that brings in its focus the professional education, through the analysis within the federal government of the political disputes and the definition and implementation of programs for the area, with special attention to the Federal Institutes, their virtues and vicissitudes. |

La expansión e internalización de la educación profesional, comenzando con el MEC, abarcó los 13 años de gobiernos del PT en los gobiernos de Lula y Dilma, incluso fue objeto de debate nacional durante la campaña presidencial con Pronatec. El énfasis en la educación profesional ha significado que, en menos de 10 años, los gobiernos del PT han construido más escuelas federales de educación profesional que en 120 años de la República. Es una coincidencia histórica que el creador de las primeras escuelas federales en 1909, Nilo Peçanha, también fuera un presidente con características cercanas a los orígenes de Lula. En este texto, la marca desarrollista que trae consigo el enfoque en la educación profesional, a través del análisis dentro del gobierno federal de disputas políticas y la definición e implementación de programas para el área, con especial atención a los Institutos Federales, Sus virtudes y vicisitudes.A educação profissional nos governos petistas assumiu importância singular, apresentada pelo presidente Lula a partir da sua própria experiência, uma vez que o único título que possuía na época era o de torneiro mecânico do SENAI. A expansão e interiorização da educação profissional, a partir do MEC, atravessou os 13 anos de governos petistas nos governos Lula e Dilma tendo sido, inclusive, objeto de debate nacional durante a campanha presidencial com o Pronatec. A ênfase na educação profissional fez com que, em menos de 10 anos, os governos petistas construíssem mais escolas federais de educação profissional do que em 120 anos de República. É uma coincidência histórica que o próprio criador das primeiras escolas federais em 1909, Nilo Peçanha, também foi um presidente com características próximas às origens de Lula.
