Resumo: How do masked subjects and masks in urban space mean by journalistic discourse? Based on this research question, this article aims to analyze formulations about masks and masked subjects in different production conditions, from materials that circulated in newspapers in 2013 and 2020, amid the discourse on the black bloc tactic in the June Days, at that first moment, and to the discursive event of the Covid-19 pandemic, today. Through the theoretical-analytical device of Discourse Analysis, the corpus consists of texts from the websites of Folha de São Paulo and O Estado de São Paulo, materializing in the journalistic narrative a dispute of meanings between the prohibition and the mandatory use of a mask facial in the city.

Universidade Estadual de Campinas2020-11-30info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionTextoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/otherapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.sbu.unicamp.br/ojs/index.php/rua/article/view/866342510.20396/rua.v26i2.8663425RUA; Vol. 26 No. 2 (2020): nov; 463-485RUA; v. 26 n. 2 (2020): nov; 463-4852179-99111413-2109reponame:Rua (Campinas.
