Resumo: The purpose of this article is to present a theoretical study on an approach to Distance Education (DE), called “Being Together Virtual Expanded” (EJVA). This approach is based on studies by Valente (2005) on the “Being Together Virtual” approach, articulated with studies on the Cycle of Actions (VALENTE, 2005), student and teacher attitudes in virtual environments (SCHERER, 2005) and styles of use of the virtual space (BARROS, 2013). In the EJVA approach, interactions between individuals, objects of knowledge and digital technologies are determinants of learning movements in virtual environments. These interactions are affected by attitudes and the relationship between proposed activities and styles of student’s virtual uses.

Essa abordagem foi proposta inicialmente em uma pesquisa de mestrado, para análise de interações em cursos de Licenciatura em Matemática, e estudos foram ampliados em uma pesquisa de doutorado, ao se propor e analisar essa abordagem em uma disciplina, em um curso de Licenciatura em Matemática a distância. Na EJVA, se considera as interações entre indivíduos e desses com o objeto do conhecimento e com as tecnologias digitais determinantes dos movimentos de aprendizagem em ambientes virtuais.
