Resumo: Can archeology produce knowledge about gender (s) that does not maintain trans people in the condition of anomaly? Aware of the incredible and permanent silence in the ample archaeological literature regarding existences and bodies outside the male/female and man/woman binarisms, this work aims at constructing a queer critique within archeological knowledge production that transcends these modern western binaries. Based on an investigation of the archaeological literature, the aim is to see the ways with which the theme of sex and gender non-binarisms has been treated, as well as to give visibility to alternative paths being traced. The trans gaze proposed in this reflection is affirmed as an effort to strengthen a Brazilian queer archeology willing to distance itself from hegemonic discourses on what constitutes normality.

En vista del increíble y permanente silencio en la amplia literatura arqueológica en lo que conciernen a las existencias y cuerpos fuera de binarismos macho / hembra y hombre / mujer, este trabajo apunta a la necesidad de construir una crítica queer en el ámbito de la producción de conocimiento de la arqueología que trascienda esos binarimos modernos occidentales. A partir de una investigación de la literatura arqueológica, se busca ver las formas con las cuales el tema de la no binariedad de sexo y de género ha sido tratado, así como se pretende dar visibilidad a caminos alternativos siendo trazados. La mirada trans propuesto en esta reflexión se afirma como un esfuerzo que busca fortalecer una arqueología queer brasileña dispuesta a distanciarse de discursos hegemónicos sobre lo que constituye la normalidad.Pode a arqueologia produzir conhecimento sobre gênero(s) que não mantenha pessoas trans na condição de anomalia? Tendo em vista o incrível e permanente silêncio na ampla literatura arqueológica no que concernem as existências e corpos fora de binarismos macho/fêmea e homem/mulher, este trabalho aponta para a necessidade de construirmos uma crítica queer no âmbito da produção de conhecimento da arqueologia que transcenda esses binarismos modernos ocidentais. A partir de uma investigação da literatura arqueológica, procura-se enxergar as formas com as quais o tema da não-binariedade de sexo e de gênero tem sido tratado, bem como pretende-se dar visibilidade a caminhos alternativos sendo traçados.
