Archeology, museums and cultural identity: tensions queer

Resumo: This article raises concerns about the relationship between archeology, museums and cultural identity in the face of queer questions. Museums and archeology, as modern institutions, have reinforced an identity based on hetero-cis-normativity and whiteness.On the other hand, the queer perspective challenges any fixed notion of identity, emphasizing fluidity. In this sense, I seek to recover aspects of the relationship between musealized archeology and cultural identity, from some institutional models,making a queer critique of how these models deal with identity processes. I defend, then, the understanding of identities as difference, bringing interesting examples of musealized archeology.

Museos y Arqueología, como instituciones modernas, han reforzado una identidad basadaen la hetero-cis-normatividad y en la branquitud. Por su parte, la perspectiva queerinterpela cualquier noción fija de identidad, defendiendo la fluidez. En ese sentido, busco recuperar aspectos de la relación entre la arqueología musealizada y la identidad cultural, a partir de algunos modelosinstitucionales, pasando a la críticaqueerde cómo los mismos trabajan con losprocesos identitarios. Defiendo, entonces, la comprensión de las identidades a partir del concepto de diferencia, trayendo ejemplos de la resignificación de la arqueología musealizada.Este artigo traz inquietações acerca da relação entre arqueologia, museus e identidade cultural, à luz dos questionamentos queer. Museus e Arqueologia, como instituições modernas, têm reforçado uma identidade pautada na hetero-cis-normatividade e na branquitude.   Por sua vez, a perspectiva queer interpela qualquer noção fixa de identidade, prezando pela fluidez. Nesse sentido, busco recuperar aspectos da relação entre arqueologia musealizada e identidade cultural, a partir de alguns modelos institucionais, passando à crítica queer de como os mesmos lidam com os processos identitários.
