Resumo: This paper aims to analyze three cinematographic works of the Ukrainian filmmaker Myroslav Slaboshpytskiy, Diagnosis (2009), Deafness (2010) e The Tribe (2014), correlating them to Deaf cinema. Thus, we have adopted a bibliographic approach to this research, covering filmmaker’s theory (AUMONT, 2004), Deaf cinema theory (BUBNIAK, 2016), cultural studies and linguistic studies of sign languages. The results demonstrate that Slaboshpytskiy develops his cinematographic creation process towards a new perspective of deafness on contemporary cinema that meets the socio-anthropological language theory as proposed by Deaf cultural studies. From this analysis, we conclude that these movies can base analyses on Deaf culture and its cultural and linguistic artifacts, providing for theorization and creative practice.
