Resumo: The research discusses the concepts of cultural identity and social representations, as well as the possible relationships that can be established between the two concepts and the process of construction of the city’s images. For this purpose, 27 publications were selected from the Scielo, Google Academic and CAPES Journals databases, all with ratings from A1 to B2, in the areas of Urban and Regional Planning and Interdisciplinary, in the Integrated System Capes WebQualis. With this, we sought to better understand the state of the art in the field of research, which relates the city with the processes of identity production and social representations.

Para ello, se seleccionaron 27 publicaciones de las bases de datos Scielo, Google Academic y CAPES Journals, todas con valoraciones de A1 a B2, en las áreas de Planificación Urbana y Regional e Interdisciplinar, en el Sistema Integrado Capes WebQualis. Con esto, buscamos comprender mejor el estado del arte en el campo de la investigación, que relaciona la ciudad con los procesos de producción de identidad y representaciones sociales.A pesquisa discute os conceitos de identidade cultural e de representações sociais, bem como as possíveis relações que se podem estabelecer entre os dois conceitos e o processo de construção das imagens da cidade. Para tanto, foram selecionadas 27 publicações das bases de dados Scielo, Google Acadêmico e Portal Periódicos CAPES, todos com avaliações entre A1 e B2, nas áreas de Planejamento Urbano e Regional e Interdisciplinar, no Sistema Integrado Capes WebQualis.
