Resumo: The main purpose of this research is to analyze the legal protection provided to children and adolescents who use violent electronic and virtual games. The specific objectives include examining risks that minors suffer from being exposed to violent games, verifying the rights and guarantees attributed to children and adolescents; inspecting legal measures aimed to protect these children; and inspecting and developing protection to minors. It is also expected to verify the existence or not of children’s and adolescents’ protection considering the violent games to which they are exposed. The method applied is the theoretical which consists of bibliographic and documentary research in doctrinal works, pertinent to national and international legislation, jurisprudence and electronic documents. Thus, it is expected to conclude whether violent games with inappropriate content really violate the rights of children and adolescents on internet. To prevent children exposure to violent games that may influence their psychological, the legal system brings several laws and decrees aimed to protect minors, who will be exposed along the essay.

Como objetivos específicos têm-se o exame dos riscos que os menores sofrem ao ficarem expostos aos jogos violentos a constatação dos direitos e garantias atribuídos às crianças e adolescentes; a inspeção das medidas jurídicas que visam a proteção destas crianças; e os órgãos competentes para fiscalizar e desenvolver a proteção dos direitos fundamentais dos menores. Espera-se, também, averiguar a existência ou não da proteção das crianças e adolescentes com vistas aos jogos violentos aos quais são expostos. O método a ser utilizado na pesquisa será o teórico que consiste na pesquisa bibliográfica e documental de obras doutrinárias, de legislação nacional e internacional pertinente, de jurisprudência e documentos eletrônicos. Desta forma, pretende-se concluir se os jogos violentos com conteúdo inapropriado realmente violam os direitos da criança e do adolescente na internet, como o princípio basilar de todo o ordenamento jurídico brasileiro, a dignidade da pessoa humana.
