Escravidão contemporânea: análise do caso Fazenda Brasil Verde à luz da corte interamericana de direitos humanos

A reflection is made about contemporary slavery, based on the case study Fazenda Brasil Verde, in which it was judged in an unprecedented manner by the InterAmerican Court of Human Rights in 2016, generating sentence N°. 318. This regional protection body has made the Brazilian State responsible internationally for not preventing and inspecting the practice of modern slavery and human trafficking, as well as condemning the country for the violation of human rights provided for in the main international treaties and pacts. The present work aims to analyze contemporary slavery in Brazil from the study of the Fazenda Brasil Verde Case, observing the advances and setbacks of the Brazilian State before the international community. In this sense, it is questioned what are the main causes and characteristics of work analogous to slavery and the reason why the vulnerable classes are the most affected, assuming that this system of human exploitation is most often associated with social inequality. Thus, it is important to note that the approach method used was inductive, through the research of the case study Brazil and it is concluded that the image of slave labor in the country needs to be demystified, since thousands of people are still in a sad social reality, where farm owners force individuals, through threats and violence, to provide services under inhuman conditions, suppressing the subject's freedom and violating his dignity.
