Resumo: The production of healthy vegetable seedlings and seedlings depends largely on the use of good quality seeds, which can be expressed by the interaction of four components: genetic, physical, sanitary and physiological. The occurrence of diseases and pests, associated to seeds, is one of the factors that most cause damage to agricultural crops, being a problem of increasing importance worldwide. Thus, the objective was to evaluate the physiological and sanitary quality of seed lots of arugula, lettuce and cucumber. The quality was determined by 4 means of germination test, first count, emergency speed index and sanity using the blotter test with freezing For germination health tests ofthe cultivars of different types of arugula and lettuce 4 repetitions of 50 seeds for each cultivar in each test was performed. For the cultivars of two types of cucumbers 8 repetitions of 25 seeds of each cultivar were done. In the culture of the ‘folha larga’ arugula it was found a higher percentage of germination and normal seedlings while the ‘cultivada’ argula presented a higher number of seedlings that died during the experimental period. Regarding the health test, a higher percentage of contaminated seeds was observed in the batch of the 'folha larga' cultivar. Regarding the lettuce, we noticed that the 'crespa' cultivar presented a higher physiological and sanitary quality in relation to the 'americana' cultivar. The results of the cucumber cultivars, it was found that the 'japonês' cucumber showed superior quality than the 'caipira' cultivar, as revealed by the higher percentage of abnormal seedlings and high contamination by fungi associated with the 'caipira' cucumber seeds.
