A Educação Ambiental (EA), tanto em âmbito nacional, quanto ao redor do mundo, é concebida como um processo contínuo de construção conceitual, de significância de valores e de ações contextualizadas. Tendo em vista esse cenário, o presente trabalho traz uma reflexão sobre a mesa de debate Educação Ambiental – Panorama da EA no Brasil e no Mundo, realizada no VI Colóquio de Pesquisadores em Educação Ambiental da Região Sul (VI CPEASul). O foco principal foi debater como a EA foi construída ao longo da história e como seus diferentes contextos sociais, políticos, culturais e econômicos a influenciaram. Para tal, a análise do presente artigo teve um amparo metodológico do relato oral ou história oral, uma ferramenta que respaldou de forma holística os diferentes pontos da construção histórica da EA. O trabalho se estruturou com base na fala e discussões levantadas pelos debatedores da mesa. Inicialmente, apresentam-se aspectos da fala da Prof.ª Drª. Maria Manuela Morais, da Universidade de Évora, sobre a EA de Portugal, e como esta foi construída historicamente a partir da década de 70 até os dias atuais. Em seguida, o pesquisador Prof. Dr. Jorge Sobral da Silva Maia abordou as principais problemáticas da EA em nosso país, destacando a crise epistemológica contemporânea vivida pela EA. Na sequência, o Prof. Dr. Antonio F. S. Guerra, abordou a Ambientalização e a EA, oportunizando práticas que se aproximem de seus respectivos contextos socioculturais. E, por fim, o Prof. Dr. Édgar Javier González Gaudiano, pesquisador do Instituto de Investigações em Educação da Universidade Veracruziana e presidente do Conselho Nacional Mexicano de Educação Ambiental para a Sustentabilidade, trouxe em seu relato os principais desaos encontrados pela EA no México e na América Latina. Por fim, pode-se ressaltar que, por meio das apresentações, houve um aprofundamento do debate das bases epistemológicas do campo teórico e histórico das políticas públicas de educação ambiental, bem como seus respectivos desdobramentos, motivando a troca de experiências e de aproximações para o desenvolvimento de parcerias dos grupos de pesquisas presentes, através de seus representantes.Abstract Environmental Education (EE) both nationally and around the world are conceived as an ongoing process of conceptual construction, of the values significance set and contextualized actions. Given this scenario, the following study brings a reflection about the debate: "Environmental Education - Overview in Brazil and in the World", held at the VI Researchers Colloquium in Environmental Education by Brazil's Southern Region (VI CPEASul). The primary focus was the discussion of how the EE has been built throughout history and how their various social contexts, political contexts, cultural contexts and economic contexts influenced it. For such, the analysis of this paper was a methodological supported by the oral report, or oral history, a tool which supported in a holistic manner the different points of EE's historical construction. e paper was structured based on the speech and discussions raised by the panelists of the table. At first it was discussed by prof. Dr. Maria Manuela Morais from the University of Évora, about EE's in Portugal, and how it was historically built upon the 70s until nowadays. And then, prof. researcher PhD Jorge Sobral S. Maia discussed the major issues of EE in our country, highlighting the contemporary epistemological crisis experienced by EE. erefore, prof. PhD Antonio F. S. Guerra, dealt with the environmentalization and EE, creating practical opportunities that surround their respective sociocultural contexts. And finally, prof. Dr Édgar G. Gaudiano, researcher at the Veracruziana University's Education Research Institute and president of the Mexican National Environmental Education Council for Sustainability has brought in his report the main challenges met by EE in Mexico and Latin America. Lastly, it was possible to emphasize through the presentations that there was a deepening of the debate on the theoretical and epistemological field, where the public probe the theoretical and historical foundations as well as their respective unfolding, motivating the exchange of experiences and approaches for the development of partnerships of the groups Of research present, through its representatives.
