Ethnomathematics in the production of cassava flour from the rural producers of agrovila do Piquiá, Amapá-AP

Resumo: This article aims to analyze the process of carrying out mathematical operations developed by farmers in the production of cassava flour in Agrovila do Piquiá, in the municipality of Amapá-AP. This is exploratory qualitative field research through direct observation and interviews carried out during visits to the Feira Municipal de Amapá and to the flour mills in Agrovila do Piquiá during the investigation stage. The results indicate that the mathematical knowledge produced by this community is as important as the scientific knowledge learned at school since the work of managing and producing cassava flour for the people of the Piquiá community involves precise mathematical calculations. The data also reveal that all respondents are knowledgeable of the four mathematical operations and other operations such as units of measurement and magnitude, percentage, geometric figures, rules of 3, and proportions, among others.

Se trata de una investigación de campo cualitativa exploratoria a través de la observación directa y entrevistas realizadas durante las visitas a la Feria Municipal de Amapá y a los molinos harineros de Agrovila do Piquiá durante la etapa de investigación. Los resultados indican que el conocimiento matemático producido por esta comunidad es tan importante como el conocimiento científico aprendido en la escuela, ya que el trabajo de manejo y producción de harina de yuca para la gente de la comunidad de Piquiá implica cálculos matemáticos precisos. Los datos también revelan que todos los encuestados conocen las cuatro operaciones matemáticas y otras operaciones como unidades de medida y magnitud, porcentaje, figuras geométricas, reglas de 3, proporciones, entre otras.O presente artigo tem por objetivo analisar o processo de realização de operações matemáticas desenvolvidos pelos agricultores na produção de farinha de mandioca na Agrovila do Piquiá, no município de Amapá-AP. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa exploratória de campo através da observação direta e entrevista realizada por ocasião de visitas realizadas à Feira Municipal de Amapá e às casas de farinha na Agrovila do Piquiá durante a etapa de investigação. Os resultados apontam que o conhecimento matemático produzido por essa comunidade é tão importante quanto os conhecimentos científicos aprendidos na escola, pois o trabalho de manejo e produção de farinha de mandioca para povo da comunidade do Piquiá, envolvem cálculos matemáticos precisos.
