Resumo: In a context in which companies aim to meet the requirements articulated by international markets, a new logistics concept stands out: Reverse Logistics, which considers the reverse flow of materials, that is, the inverted movement of products, which goes from the final user to the company. This study investigates how a group of companies located in the municipality of Osasco-SP manages the disposal of solid waste, to provide a basis for better understanding how this integration can be articulated. Special attention has been given to the disposal of printer cartridges that are widely used in companies and constitute electronic waste. The methodology used in this study was based on an exploratory survey which involved carrying out a questionnaire and a direct and personal non-structured interview. Among those respondents available to talk on the matter, 54% declared that they sent some type of material for recycling, including paper, cardboard, batteries and even the specific raw material residues of sold products. It was noted that, despite the resistance of interviewees to answer the questions – fearing punishment for disposing of waste incorrectly - 46% admitted disposing of all types of materials in the general rubbish bin, although they had some understanding of the environmental, social and economic damages caused by such a practice.
