The relevance of continuing teacher education in the daily life of youth and adult education program

Resumo: This article aims to discuss the importance of continuing teacher education through the narrative of the work routine of professionals working in the Youth and Adult Education Program - PEJA - of Rio de Janeiro City Hall. For data collection, direct observation and follow-up of weekly meetings were used for continuing education purposes, along with the application of a questionnaire to the teachers involved. This report highlights the importance of weekly meetings that are common to the routine of these teachers, as a way of enriching the planning, obtaining new learning and reinforcing the 'conversations' between the subjects, corroborating the integration of different knowledge. The experience narrated reinforces the conception that these weekly meetings allow the dialogue between the subjects and the collective construction of contextualized classes, which is one of the differentials obtained through the continuing education of these teachers.

Para la recopilación de datos, se utilizó la observación directa y el seguimiento de las reuniones semanales con fines de educación continua, junto con la aplicación de un cuestionario a los docentes involucrados. Este informe destaca la importancia de las reuniones semanales que son comunes a la rutina de estos maestros, como una forma de enriquecer la planificación, obtener nuevos aprendizajes y reforzar las 'conversaciones' entre las asignaturas, corroborando la integración de diferentes conocimientos. La experiencia narrada refuerza la concepción de que estas reuniones semanales permiten el diálogo entre las asignaturas y la construcción colectiva de clases contextualizadas, que es uno de los diferenciales obtenidos através de la educación continua de estos docentes.O presente artigo tem por objetivo discutir a importância da formação continuada de professores, por meio da narrativa da rotina de trabalho de profissionais que atuam no Programa de Educação de Jovens e Adultos - PEJA - da Prefeitura do Rio de Janeiro. Para a coleta de dados utilizou-se de observação direta e acompanhamento dos encontros semanais para fins de formação continuada, juntamente à aplicação de questionário aos docentes envolvidos. O presente relato evidencia a importância dos encontros semanais que são comuns à rotina destes professores, enquanto forma de enriquecer os planejamentos, obter novos aprendizados e reforçar as ‘conversas’ entre as disciplinas, corroborando para a integração dos diferentes saberes.
