Resumo: | Objective: to know the scientific evidence on occupational stress experienced by nurses working in the oncology palliative care sector. This is an Integrative Literature Review. Methodology: Data collection was carried out in the electronic databases Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), Virtual Health Library Brazil (VHL) and Bibliographic Database Specialized in Nursing (BDENF), using the Health Sciences Descriptors: “psychological stress”, “oncology” and “oncology nursing”. The PICo strategy was used to formulate the guiding question; The inclusion criteria were articles published in the period from 2013 to 2019, available in full and free to read, in Portuguese and relevant to the topic. Result: 66 records were identified in the databases without the inclusion criteria, leaving only 08 after the application of the filters and which comprised the review studies. The discussion raised refers to the correlation of the texts according to the theoretical framework that placed the studies in thematic categories, entitled: Psychological and social factors that contribute to occupational stress and Strategies used by nurses in coping with occupational stress. Conclusion: stressors are related to the functional aspects of work, such as work overload and the way tasks are divided and that in addition to these there are psychological factors that directly affect the nurse's life, such as the feeling of loss before death of a patient. |

Conclusion: stressors are related to the functional aspects of work, such as work overload and the way tasks are divided and that in addition to these there are psychological factors that directly affect the nurse's life, such as the feeling of loss before death of a patient.
