Technology and support for problem-based learning: a brief review of the literature considering practical studies

Resumo: | The lifestyle in the digital world signals changes in the professional, educational and social spheres. Digital technologies can contribute in several areas. Thus, using the knowledge construction process can generate a potential gain. This article indicates changes in the teaching and learning process, related to the insertion of digital technologies and the teaching and learning strategy used. This literature review aims to raise awareness of studies published between 2015 and 2019 related to the support of digital technologies to the Problem Based Learning (PBL) strategy. As a methodological characteristic, it refers to an exploratory study of a qualitative nature. For the methodology, the search criteria of the Scopus, Eric and Web of Science indexers were used, with keywords related to PBL strategies and as digital technologies, followed by exclusion and selection of available articles. The articles present practical studies involving the theme, which resulted in challenges and benefits in the educational field. Through the analysis of the studies it was possible to verify that the use of digital technologies provided, in general, interaction, knowledge and digital skills. The advances pointed out improvement indications future implementations, considering a better performance of all accomplished. |

Las tecnologías digitales pueden contribuir en varias áreas. Por lo tanto, usarlos en el proceso de construcción del conocimiento puede generar una ganancia potencial. Este artículo encuentra indicios de cambios en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje, no solo en relación a la inserción de tecnologías digitales, sino también en la estrategia de enseñanza y aprendizaje utilizada. Esta revisión de la literatura tiene como objetivo dar a conocer los estudios publicados entre 2015 y 2019 relacionados con el apoyo de las tecnologías digitales a la estrategia de Aprendizaje Basado en Problemas (ABP). Como característica metodológica, se refiere a un estudio exploratorio, de carácter cualitativo. Se utilizaron criterios de búsqueda en los índices Scopus, Eric y Web of Science, con palabras clave relacionadas con estrategias de ABP y tecnologías digitales, seguido de la exclusión y selección de artículos abiertos. Los artículos relacionados presentan estudios prácticos que involucran el tema, que resultaron en desafíos y beneficios en el campo educativo. A través del análisis de contenido de los estudios se pudo constatar que el uso de tecnologías digitales aportó, en general, interacción, conocimientos y habilidades digitales. Los avances señalados sugieren indicaciones para futuras implementaciones, considerando un mejor desempeño de todos los involucrados.O estilo de vida no mundo digital sinaliza mudanças no âmbito profissional, educacional e social. As tecnologias digitais podem contribuir em diversas áreas. Assim, utilizá-las no processo de construção do conhecimento pode gerar um ganho de potencial. Este artigo vai ao encontro de indicações de mudanças no processo de ensino e aprendizagem, não só em relação à inserção das tecnologias digitais, mas também à estratégia de ensino e aprendizagem utilizada. Esta revisão de literatura pretende dar conhecimento aos estudos publicados entre 2015 e 2019 relacionados ao apoio das tecnologias digitais à estratégia de Aprendizagem Baseada em Problemas (ABP). Como característica metodológica, o trabalho se enquadra como um estudo exploratório, de natureza qualitativa. Utilizou-se de critérios de busca nos indexadores Scopus, Eric e Web of Science, com palavras-chave relacionadas às estratégias de ABP e as tecnologias digitais, seguido de exclusão e seleção de artigos abertos. Os artigos relacionados apresentam estudos práticos envolvendo a temática, os quais resultaram em desafios e benefícios no campo educacional. Através da análise de conteúdo presente nos estudos foi possível constatar que o uso das tecnologias digitais proporcionou, de uma forma geral, interação, conhecimento e habilidades digitais.
