Antidiabetic properties of beer enriched with Baccharis dracunculifolia

Resumo: | Objective: The objective of the present study was to verify the metabolic responses of a beer with Baccharis dracunculifolia added in diabetic patients. Methodology: Participants in the study were 06 volunteer individuals diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Biochemical analysis and physical evaluation took place before and after 30 days of treatment with beer with B. dracunculifolia. Results: After receiving the beer treatment with B. dracunculifolia, the patients showed a decrease in creatinine levels (23%). Alkaline phosphatase also had a reduction (23%) in its production. In addition, a reduction in the lipid profile for LDL (15%) was observed. Still, the levels of TGO and TGP had a significant reduction of 42% and 25%, respectively. Blood glucose levels after treatment reduced margins by 22%. Conclusion: In conclusion, beer enriched with B. dracunculifolia offers promising therapeutic value in preventing diabetes and dyslipidemic profile. |

Metodología: Participaron del estudio 06 individuos voluntarios diagnosticados con diabetes mellitus tipo 2. Se realizaron análisis bioquímicos y evaluación física antes y después de 30 días de tratamiento con cerveza con B. dracunculifolia. Resultados: Después de recibir el tratamiento de cerveza con B. dracunculifolia, los pacientes mostraron una disminución en los niveles de creatinina (23%). La fosfatasa alcalina también tuvo una reducción (23%) en su producción. Además, se observó una reducción del perfil lipídico para LDL (15%). Aún así, los niveles de TGO y TGP tuvieron una reducción significativa de 42% y 25%, respectivamente. Los niveles de glucosa en sangre después del tratamiento redujeron los márgenes en un 22 %. Conclusión: En conclusión, la cerveza enriquecida con B. dracunculifolia ofrece un valor terapéutico prometedor en la prevención de la diabetes y el perfil dislipidémico.Objetivo: O objetivo do presente trabalho foi verificar as respostas metabólicas de uma cerveja com adição Baccharis dracunculifolia em pacientes diabéticos. Metodologia: Foram participantes do estudo, 06 indivíduos voluntários com diagnóstico de diabetes mellitus tipo 2. Ocorreu a análise bioquímica e avaliação física antes e após 30 dias de tratamento com a cerveja com B. dracunculifolia. Resultados: Após receberem o tratamento com a cerveja com B. dracunculifolia, os pacientes apresentaram diminuição dos níveis de creatinina (23%). A fosfatase alcalina também teve redução (23%) na sua produção. Além disso, foi observada redução no perfil lipídico para o LDL (15%). Ainda, os níveis de TGO e TGP tiveram redução significativa de 42% e 25%, respectivamente. Os níveis de glicose sanguínea após o tratamento reduziram margens de 22%.
