Resumo: The analysis of the participation of dentists in the scientific subfield of collective Health (SC) was carried out through a cross-sectional study to characterize the profile of the professors of the postgraduate programs in collective Health (PPGSC) with graduation in Dentistry and its relations with the SC space. The Lattes curricula of the 141 professors who participated in the CAPES evaluation 2017 were identified and collected. The referential of Bourdieu's theory of practices was used. The variables analyzed: PG program to which it belongs; Area and theme of doctoral thesis and master's dissertation; First and second practice areas; Occupations outside the university; First line of research; and 5 main published works; and the volume of scientific and bureaucratic capital. Professors with a degree in dentistry were linked to 52 PPGSC, from 39 different institutions, and 66% from federal public institutions. A predominance of the area of activity in SC was observed. Most professors were female, but positions of greater notoriety in the scientific field and more qualified publications were related to men. The significant relationship of these professors with the dental field reveals their strong influence on professional identity, establishing a fine line between these two scientific fields.

Se identificaron y recopilaron los currículos de Lattes de los 141 profesores que participaron en la Evaluación CAPES 2017. Se utilizó el marco de la teoría de las prácticas de Bourdieu. Las variables analizadas: programa PG al que pertenece; área y tema de la tesis doctoral y tesis de maestría; primera y segunda áreas de acción; ocupaciones fuera de la universidad; primera línea de investigación; 5 trabajos principales publicados; y volumen de capital científico y burocrático. Los profesores con licenciatura en odontología estaban vinculados a 52 PPGSC, de 39 instituciones diferentes, el 66% de ellos de instituciones públicas federales. Predominó el área de práctica de SC. La mayoría de los profesores eran mujeres, pero los puestos de mayor notoriedad en el campo científico y las publicaciones más calificadas estaban relacionadas con los hombres. La significativa relación de estos profesores con el campo de la odontología revela su fuerte influencia en la identidad profesional, estableciendo una delgada línea entre estos dos campos científicos.A análise da participação de cirurgiões-dentistas no subcampo científico da Saúde Coletiva (SC) foi realizada através de estudo transversal para caracterização do perfil dos docentes dos Programas de Pós-Graduação em Saúde Coletiva (PPGSC) com graduação em odontologia e suas relações com o espaço da SC. Foram identificados e coletados os currículos Lattes dos 141 docentes que participaram da Avaliação 2017 da CAPES. Utilizou-se o referencial da teoria das práticas de Bourdieu. As variáveis analisadas: Programa de PG a que pertence; área e tema da tese do doutorado e da dissertação do mestrado; primeira e segunda áreas de atuação; ocupações fora da universidade; primeira linha de pesquisa; 5 principais trabalhos publicados; e volume de capital científico e burocrático. Os docentes com graduação em odontologia estavam vinculados a 52 PPGSC, de 39 diferentes instituições, sendo 66% de instituições públicas federais. Observou-se um predomínio da área de atuação em SC. A maioria dos docentes era do sexo feminino, mas posições de maior notoriedade no campo científico e publicações mais qualificadas estiveram relacionadas ao sexo masculino.
