Urban planning: traffic feasibility near rotating through a software to improve flow of vehicles and pedestrians

Resumo: | The planning of the road network is always essential for any urban proposal, be it a simple restructuring, amplification or new proposal, in any scale of coverage. The objective of the study is to analyze the implementation of traffic lights near a roundabout located in the city of Campina Grande-PB, in order to improve the flow and safety of the drivers and pedestrians that surround it. A study of flow, delay and safety at the roundabout was carried out by means of data collection in the field and the use of a VISSIM simulator program, evaluating a roundabout system without traffic lights and another with traffic lights, where the latter proved to be more effective and with fewer conflict areas. In order to ensure improvement in the peak times of the roundabout, it is advisable to install partial traffic lights that normally operate at certain times of the day, in addition to a crosswalk on the main road. |

El objetivo del estudio es analizar la implementación de semáforos cerca de una rotonda ubicada en la ciudad de Campina Grande-PB, a fin de mejorar el flujo y la seguridad de los conductores y peatones que lo rodean. Se realizó un estudio de flujo, demora y seguridad en la rotonda mediante la recopilación de datos en el campo y el uso de un programa simulador VISSIM, evaluando un sistema de rotonda sin semáforos y otro con semáforos, donde este último demostró ser más efectivo y con menos áreas de conflicto. Para garantizar la mejora en las horas pico de la rotonda, es aconsejable instalar semáforos parciales que normalmente funcionan en ciertos momentos del día, además de un cruce de peatones en la carretera principal.O planejamento da rede viária é sempre essencial para qualquer proposta urbanística, seja ela uma simples reestruturação, amplificação ou proposta nova, em qualquer escala de abrangência. A pesquisa objetiva analisar a implantação de semáforos próximos à uma rotatória localizada na cidade de Campina Grande-PB, a fim de aperfeiçoar o fluxo e a segurança dos motoristas e pedestres que ali circundam. Realizou-se um estudo de fluxo, atraso e segurança na rotatória por meio de coleta de dados em campo e a utilização de um programa simulador VISSIM, avaliando um sistema da rotatória sem semáforos e outro com semáforos, onde o último se mostrou mais eficaz e com uma menor quantidade de áreas de conflitos.
