Is a School of Postures program able to reduce pain and improve flexibility and quality of life in workers with musculoskeletal dysfunction?

Resumo: Introdution: It is suggested that the School of Postures programs can provide important effects in workers with musculoskeletal disorders. However, the lack of uniformity in the programs makes it difficult to analyze their real effects. Objective: To evaluate a Posture Schools program with a pedagogical-therapeutic focus on pain, flexibility and quality of life in workers with musculoskeletal dysfunction. Methodology: This is a quasi-experimental study composed of 24 workers with musculoskeletal dysfunction. The subjects received a protocol of 20 sessions (twice a week) that consisted of theoretical/educational classes, specific kinesiotherapy exercises and relaxation. The evaluated outcomes were pain, flexibility and quality of life. Pre- and post-treatment comparisons were performed using the Wilcoxon test, always considering a 5% significance level and a 95% confidence interval. Results and Discussions: There was an improvement in flexibility (p = 0.027), a decrease in the intensity of pain (p = 0.043) and an overall measure of quality of life (p = 0.043). Conclusion: The proposed School of Postures program was able to improve the outcomes assessed in the participating workers.

Objetivo: Avaliar um programa de Escolas de Postura con foco pedagógico-terapéutico sobre un dor, flexibilidade y qualidade de vida em trabalhadores con disfunção musculoesquelética. Metodología: Trata-se de um estudo quase experimental composto por 24 trabalhadores con disfunção musculoesquelética. Os indivíduos forram receberam um protocolo de 20 sessões (2 vezes por semana) que consisteniam em aula teórica / educativa, exercícios cinesioterapêuticos especficose e relaxamento. Os desfechos avaliados foram a dor, flexibilidade e qualidade de vida. Como comparações pré e pós-tratamento foram realizado por meio do teste de Wilcoxon, se puede determinar um nível de significância de 5% e um intervalo de confiança de 95%. Resultados y Discusiones: Houve melhora na flexibilidade (p = 0,027), na diminuição da intensidade de dor no corpo (p = 0,043) y medida global de qualidade de vida (p = 0,043). Conclusión: El protocolo de la Escuela de Posturas propone un enfoque de melodía os desfechos analizados nos trabalhadores participantes.Introdução: Sugere-se que os programas de Escola de Posturas podem fornecer efeitos importantes em trabalhadores com disfunções musculoesqueléticas. No entanto, a falta de uniformização dos programas dificultam as análises dos seus reais efeitos.  Objetivo: Avaliar um programa de Escolas de Postura com foco pedagógico-terapeutico sobre a dor, flexibilidade e qualidade de vida em trabalhadores com disfunção musculoesquelética.
