A look at geography teaching in the early years of fundamental education

Resumo: | Elementary School I comprises from the 1st to the 5th year, its target audience is children from 6 to 10 years old and is a cycle in which the curricular components are taught by teachers with a degree in Pedagogy. In this context, such teachers are responsible for promoting activities in different areas, whether in the field of literacy and literacy, logical-mathematical reasoning or the initial notions of History, Natural Sciences and Geography. The aim of this study is to analyze some aspects of Geography teaching in the early years of elementary school and the role assumed by teachers responsible for working with geographic content at this stage of education. With regard to the methodology used, it can be said that this is a qualitative research, which adopted documentary and bibliographic analysis as methodological procedures. The study showed that the teachers responsible for classes in Elementary School I, must find a way to work with their students so that they know the world, the place where they live and their relationship with space. Therefore, in the pedagogical practices aimed at students in the early years of elementary school, it is essential that the teacher gives due attention to immediate and concrete experiences of the children. |

En este contexto, estos maestros son responsables de promover actividades en diferentes áreas, ya sea en el campo de la alfabetización y la alfabetización, el razonamiento lógico-matemático o las nociones iniciales de Historia, Ciencias Naturales y Geografía. El objetivo de este estudio es analizar algunos aspectos de la enseñanza de Geografía en los primeros años de la escuela primaria y el papel asumido por los maestros responsables de trabajar con contenido geográfico en esta etapa de la educación. Con respecto a la metodología utilizada, se puede decir que se trata de una investigación cualitativa, que adoptó el análisis documental y bibliográfico como procedimientos metodológicos. El estudio mostró que los maestros responsables de las clases en la escuela primaria I deben encontrar una manera de trabajar con sus alumnos para que conozcan el mundo, el lugar donde viven y su relación con el espacio. Por lo tanto, en las prácticas pedagógicas dirigidas a los estudiantes en los primeros años de la escuela primaria, es esencial que el maestro preste la debida atención a las experiencias inmediatas y concretas de los niños.O Ensino Fundamental I compreende do 1° ao 5° ano, tem como público alvo crianças de 6 a 10 anos de idade e é um ciclo no qual os componentes curriculares são ministrados por professores com formação em licenciatura em Pedagogia. Neste contexto tais professores são responsáveis por promover atividades nas diferentes áreas, seja no âmbito da alfabetização e do letramento, do raciocínio lógico-matemático ou das noções iniciais de História, Ciências Naturais e Geografia. O objetivo do presente estudo é analisar alguns aspectos do ensino de Geografia nos anos iniciais do Ensino Fundamental e o papel assumido pelos professores responsáveis pelo trabalho com o conteúdo geográfico nessa etapa da educação. No que se refere à metodologia utilizada, pode-se dizer que esta é uma pesquisa qualitativa, que adotou enquanto procedimentos metodológicos a análise documental e bibliográfica. O estudo evidenciou que os professores responsáveis pelas aulas no Ensino Fundamental I, devem encontrar uma maneira de trabalhar com seus alunos de modo que eles conheçam o mundo, o lugar em que vivem e sua relação com o espaço.
