Experimentation in teaching Chemistry in Basic Education: an analysis through congress proceedings

Resumo: This report had like goal to show a qualitative exploratory analysis of the role and the typology of experimentation in teaching through annals of the congress of the annual meeting of the Brazilian Chemical Society between 2011 and 2019. The theoretical and methodologic references of the analysis to characterize experiments in teaching were based on the observation of Araújo & Abib and Oliveira. The present research showed that most of the experiments applied in the classroom are of a demonstrative and / or verifying nature, and only 6% of the analyzed works were classified as investigative with a focus on meaningful learning, by applying the experiment as an active methodology, making the student active and central subject in the teaching-learning process. Thus, the such observations suggest, as conclusion, an urgent need to foster good training for teachers able to develop efficient experiments via active methodologies.

Las referencias teóricas y metodológicas aplicadas para caracterizar los experimentos se basaron en las observaciones de Araújo & Abib y Oliveira. La presente investigación mostró que la mayoría de los experimentos aplicados en el aula son de carácter demostrativo y / o de verificación, haciendo al docente con el rol principal del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje, y solo el 6% de los trabajos analizados fueron clasificados como investigativos con enfoque en aprendizaje significativo aplicando el experimento como una metodología activa en la que el alumno se convierte en el sujeto activo y central del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Tales observaciones concluyen que existe una necesidad urgente de promover la formación de profesores capaces de desarrollar experimentos eficientes a través de metodologías activas.Este artigo teve como objetivo descrever uma análise qualitativa exploratória do papel e da tipologia da experimentação no ensino de Química na educação básica a partir dos anais das reuniões anuais da Sociedade Química do Brasil entre 2011 a 2019.  Os referencias teóricos e metodológicos aplicados para caracterização dos experimentos foram baseados nas observações de Araújo & Abib e Oliveira. A presente pesquisa  mostrou que a maioria dos experimentos aplicados em sala de aula são de natureza demonstrativa e/ou verificativa tornando o professor com o papel principal do processo de ensino – aprendizagem, e apenas 6% dos trabalhos analisados foram classificados como investigativos com foco em aprendizagem significativa aplicando o experimento como uma metodologia ativa na qual torna o aluno o sujeito ativo, e central, do processo ensino-aprendizagem.
