Resumo: | This paper presents a clipping of a master's dissertation aiming to investigate how students build scientific knowledge using the methodology of experimentation in Chemistry Teaching and to analyze the strategies, potentialities and limitations of this methodology in High School. The theoretical framework addresses pedagogical and epistemological questions of experimentation. The intervention for this investigation was carried out in a public school of Basic Education, located in the municipality of Vila Nova do Sul / RS, with students of the first year of high school. The research methodology used the qualitative approach and from the production of data emerged categories of analysis. As a result of this research it is pointed out that students have become more independent as they carry out the experiments, with frequent questions during the class, while making important decisions in the development of the experiments. |

El marco teórico aborda cuestiones pedagógicas y epistemológicas de experimentación. La intervención para esta investigación se llevó a cabo en una escuela pública de Educación Básica, ubicada en el municipio de Vila Nova do Sul / RS, con alumnos del primer año de secundaria. La metodología de investigación utilizó el enfoque cualitativo y de la producción de datos surgieron categorías de análisis. Como resultado de esta investigación, se señala que los estudiantes se han vuelto más independientes a medida que realizan los experimentos, con preguntas frecuentes durante la clase, mientras toman decisiones importantes en el desarrollo de los experimentos.Este trabalho apresenta um recorte de uma dissertação de mestrado com o objetivo de investigar como os alunos constroem conhecimento científico com uso da metodologia de experimentação no Ensino de Química e analisar as estratégias, potencialidades e limitações desta metodologia no Ensino Médio. Como referencial teórico aborda-se questões pedagógica e epistemológica da experimentação. A intervenção para esta investigação foi realizada em escola Pública de Educação Básica, localizada no município de Vila Nova do Sul/RS, com alunos do primeiro Ano do Ensino Médio. Como metodologia de pesquisa utilizou-se a abordagem qualitativa e a partir da produção de dados emergiram categorias de análise.
