Resumo: | The study emerge as a result of environmental dilemmas of our Society. The questioning starts concerning the indigenous Living Well concept, with argues the future of the planet as a broad discussion between Human beings and the environment. We investigate how the Living Well ideia comes up to Western reality, which paths and directions were taken. The research is essentially qualitative, bibliographic and classify itself as an exploratory study, aiming clarify and criticize concepts. Therefore we conclude Living Well idea shows up on Western agenda through a couple of movments: The indigenous struggle of self statement and its rights, to resist against a constant coloniality of power and memory;. The other one is called “Western Despair” originated of socio-environmental caos which we are living. |

El cuestionamiento comienza com el concepto indígena de Buen Vivir, que entende que cuando se discute el futuro del planeta, esta discusión no puede reducirse a la relación entre los seres humanos y el médio ambiente. Continuamos investigando como surge este concepto de Buen Vivir para la realidade occidental, qué caminhos se tomaron y em qué direcciones. La investigación es essencialmente cualitativa, bibliográfica, y se classifica como um estúdio exploratório cuyo propósito es aclarar conceptos y también criticarlos. Y así, concluímos que Buen Vivir aparece em la agenda occidental a través de dos movimentos: la lucha indígena por la afirmación de estos pueblos como sujetos de derechos, por la resistência contra uma constante colonialidad del poder y por la memoria; y por lo que llamamos “desesperación occidental” que surge del caos socioambiental em el que nos encontramos.O presente texto é fruto das nossas inquietações acerca dos dilemas ambientais que passamos enquanto sociedade. O questionamento se inicia a partir do conceito indígena de Bem Viver que entende que ao discutir o futuro do planeta, essa discussão não pode ser reduzida à relação entre seres humanos e meio ambiente. Adentramos em investigar como esse conceito do Bem Viver emerge para a realidade ocidental, quais os caminhos foram percorridos e em quais direções. A pesquisa é essencialmente qualitativa, bibliográfica, e se classifica como sendo um estudo exploratório cuja finalidade é clarear conceitos e também criticá-los.
