Cinema, camera and action: Using a film to teach Biology topics in high school

Resumo: Nowadays, more than ever, the teacher is challenged in proposing teaching methodological alternatives in order to awaken and facilitate students' learning. Biology is a fascinating area, however, it is endowed with many terms and processes that must be very well contextualized by the students. In this sense, the present work has as main objective the proposal of a didactic sequence to the students of the third year of high school, using the commercial film called “Victor Frankenstein” to facilitate the students' learning on themes related to the origin of life, and even even ethics and bioethics in scientific research. As an initial methodology, the film will be reproduced to the students and at the end, the teacher will discuss and discuss various subjects within the scope of Biology, enhancing and facilitating the knowledge acquired in the theoretical classes of Biology. Thus, we believe that the approach of the proposed film may arouse the interest of students, making learning more effective in the topics covered.

La biología es un área fascinante, sin embargo, está dotada de muchos términos y procesos que deben ser muy bien contextualizados por los estudiantes. En este sentido, el presente trabajo tiene como objetivo principal la propuesta de una secuencia didáctica a los estudiantes de tercer año de bachillerato, utilizando la película comercial denominada “Victor Frankenstein” para facilitar el aprendizaje de los estudiantes sobre temas relacionados con el origen de la vida, e incluso la ética y la bioética en la investigación científica. Como metodología inicial, se reproducirá la película a los alumnos y al final, el profesor debatirá y debatirá sobre diversos temas dentro del ámbito de la Biología, potenciando y facilitando los conocimientos adquiridos en las clases teóricas de Biología. Así, creemos que el planteamiento de la película propuesta puede despertar el interés de los estudiantes, haciendo más efectivo el aprendizaje en los temas tratados.Nos tempos atuais, mais de que nunca, o professor é desafiado em propor alternativas metodológicas de ensino com o intuito de despertar e facilitar a aprendizagem dos alunos. A Biologia é uma área fascinante, no entanto, é dotada de muitos termos e processos que devem ser muito bem contextualizados pelos discentes. Neste sentido, o presente trabalho possui como principal objetivo a proposta de uma sequência didática aos alunos do ensino médio, utilizando o filme comercial denominado “Victor Frankenstein” para facilitar a aprendizagem dos alunos em temas relacionados a origem da vida, e até mesmo a ética e a bioética na pesquisa científica. Como metodologia inicial, o filme será reproduzido aos alunos e no final, o professor irá problematizar e discutir vários assuntos no escopo da Biologia, potencializando e facilitando o conhecimento adquirido nas aulas teóricas de Biologia.
