Brazilian public education in a pandemic context: impacts, challenges and uncertainties

Resumo: With the worsening of the new coronavirus pandemic (SARS-CoV-2), Brazil and the whole world came to a standstill, especially in interpersonal relationships, because the infectious agent ended up interrupting physical contact and the routine of countless people in a drastic way, especially for the public of basic education in the process of cognitive formation. Given this scenario, the study presented had the objective of analyzing the implications of social isolation for students in the initial stages of education, the problem of classes in a virtual environment for the teaching-learning process, and the impacts and perspectives for the future of Brazilian students. The methodology used consists of a bibliographic review, of a qualitative nature, with its elaboration done by reading books, scientific articles and official sites for a better structuring of the intended premises. Through the analyses, it was possible to verify that in this atypical conjuncture, teachers were overloaded, because they had to adapt to the use of educational technologies in a short period of time and needed to renew the way of transmitting knowledge. As for the students, many faced obstacles to follow the remote classes, due to the lack of necessary equipment and internet connection problems, which caused an increase in school dropouts.  Thus, through this research, it was possible to conclude that education suffered a setback in this pandemic period, which culminated in numerous difficulties faced by educators and students, both in school and in private life, which highlights the complex task of Brazilian public education for the coming years.

Ante este escenario, el estudio presentado tuvo como objetivo analizar las implicaciones del aislamiento social para los estudiantes en las etapas iniciales de la educación, la problemática de las clases en un entorno virtual para el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje y los impactos y perspectivas para el futuro de los estudiantes brasileños. La metodología utilizada consiste en una revisión bibliográfica, de carácter cualitativo, con su elaboración realizada mediante la lectura de libros, artículos científicos y sitios oficiales para una mejor estructuración de las premisas pretendidas. A través de los análisis, se pudo comprobar que en esta coyuntura atípica, los profesores estaban sobrecargados, ya que tenían que adaptarse al uso de las tecnologías educativas en un corto período de tiempo y necesitaban renovar la forma de transmitir el conocimiento. En cuanto a los estudiantes, muchos de ellos se enfrentaron a obstáculos para seguir las clases a distancia, debido a la falta de equipamiento necesario y a problemas de conexión a Internet, lo que provocó un aumento del abandono escolar.  Así, a través de esta investigación, fue posible concluir que la educación sufrió en este período pandémico un retroceso, que culminó en numerosas dificultades enfrentadas por educadores y alumnos, tanto en la escuela como en la vida privada, lo que pone de manifiesto la compleja tarea de la educación pública brasileña para los próximos años.Com o agravamento da pandemia do novo coronavírus (SARS-CoV-2), o Brasil e o mundo inteiro paralisaram, sobretudo nas relações interpessoais, pois o agente infeccioso acabou interrompendo o contato físico e a rotina de inúmeras pessoas de forma drástica, principalmente para o público da educação básica em processo de formação cognitiva. Diante desse cenário, o estudo apresentado teve como objetivo analisar as implicações do isolamento social para os alunos das etapas iniciais de ensino, a problemática das aulas em ambiente virtual para o processo de ensino-aprendizagem e os impactos e perspectivas para o futuro dos estudantes brasileiros. A metodologia utilizada consiste em uma revisão bibliográfica, de caráter qualitativo, com sua elaboração feita mediante leitura de livros, artigos científicos e sites oficiais para um melhor estruturamento das premissas pretendidas. Através das análises, foi possível constatar que nessa conjuntura atípica, professores ficaram sobrecarregados, pois tiveram que se adaptar ao uso das tecnologias educacionais em um curto espaço de tempo e precisaram renovar a maneira de transmissão dos saberes.
