Resumo: Objective: To report the experience of nursing students on the role of the companion in the prevention of infection to patients hospitalized in the hospital environment. Methodology: This is a descriptive study, of the experience report type, with a qualitative approach, bringing the experiences of nursing students from the University Center of the Metropolitan Region of Belém do Pará during educational activities in six wards of a surgical center in a reference hospital in women's health care in the state. Results: Through an educational action, the main care to be carried out by the companions/visitors was emphasized, through a folder, a step by step of the correct way of hand hygiene and other useful tips to prevent hospital infections, the importance of these care to combat “superbacteria” and a short word search in the process of gamification and knowledge fixation and, finally, there was the moment to remove doubts. Final Considerations: The educational actions carried out in the wards allowed the companions and patients to have a breadth of knowledge about the importance of their preventive measures for the patient's health, implementation of infection control and continuing education as strategies to implement effective measures in the pursuit of quality of care.

Metodología: Se trata de un estudio descriptivo, del tipo relato de experiencia, con abordaje cualitativo, trayendo las vivencias de estudiantes de enfermería del Centro Universitario de la Región Metropolitana de Belém do Pará durante actividades educativas en seis salas de un centro quirúrgico en una referencia hospitalario en la atención de la salud de la mujer en el estado. Resultados: A través de una acción educativa se enfatizó los principales cuidados que deben realizar los acompañantes/visitantes, a través de una carpeta, un paso a paso de la forma correcta de higiene de manos y otros consejos útiles para prevenir infecciones hospitalarias, la importancia de estos cuidados para combatir las “superbacterias” y una breve sopa de letras en el proceso de gamificación y fijación del conocimiento y, finalmente, llegó el momento de despejar dudas. Consideraciones Finales: Las acciones educativas realizadas en las salas permitieron a los acompañantes y pacientes tener un amplio conocimiento sobre la importancia de sus medidas preventivas para la salud del paciente, la implementación del control de infecciones y la educación continua como estrategias para implementar medidas efectivas en la búsqueda de la calidad de cuidado.Objetivo: Relatar a experiência de acadêmicos de enfermagem sobre o protagonismo do acompanhante na prevenção de infecção aos pacientes internados no ambiente hospitalar. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, do tipo relato de experiência, de abordagem qualitativa, trazendo as vivências de estudantes de enfermagem do Centro Universitário da Região Metropolitana de Belém do Pará durante a realização de ações educativas em seis enfermarias de um centro cirúrgico em um hospital de referência nos cuidados a saúde da mulher no estado. Resultados: Por meio de uma ação educativa foram enfatizados os principais cuidados a serem efetivados pelos acompanhantes/visitantes, através de um folder foi ensinado um passo a passo do modo correto de higienização das mãos e outras dicas úteis para prevenir infecções hospitalares, a importância desses cuidados para o combate as “superbactérias” e um curto caça palavras no processo de gamificação e fixação do conhecimento e, por fim houve o momento de retirada de dúvidas.
