Knowledge about peripheral venous puncture in the oncopediatric scenario: an integrative review

Resumo: Objective: To identify through the literature the importance of clinical assessment of nurses to establish a care plan for children in the face of peripheral venipuncture and describe the main actions that nurses can promote, pharmacological or not, in order to promote comfort to the child during the process. of venipuncture. Methodology: integrative review, with a search in the Virtual Health Library (VHL), LILACS, BDENF and MEDLINE. Results: Selection of 10 articles that served as the basis for the study. Content analysis and discussion: three categories were created: clinical assessment of nurses in Intravenous Therapy; the child and the peripheral venipuncture procedure; and the actions of nurses in assisting children with AVP. Conclusion: It is essential to rethink the practice and know that it is possible to reduce complications for the patient, improving the knowledge of the entire Nursing team about the catheter, for quality care, in which the nurse plays a crucial role in continuing education, where its continuous update regarding new health technologies is necessary.

Análisis de contenido y discusión: se crearon tres categorías: valoración clínica de enfermeros en Terapia Intravenosa; el niño y el procedimiento de venopunción periférica; y las acciones de las enfermeras para ayudar a los niños con AVP. Conclusión: Es fundamental repensar la práctica y saber que es posible reducir las complicaciones para el paciente, mejorando el conocimiento de todo el equipo de Enfermería sobre el catéter, para una atención de calidad, en la que la enfermera juega un papel fundamental en la educación continua. donde es necesaria su actualización continua en cuanto a las nuevas tecnologías sanitarias.Objetivo: Identificar através da literatura a importância da avaliação clínica do enfermeiro para estabelecer um plano de cuidados a criança diante da punção venosa periférica e descrever as principais ações que o Enfermeiro pode promover, farmacológicas ou não, afim de promover conforto à criança durante o processo de punção venosa. Metodologia: revisão integrativa, com busca na Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), LILACS, BDENF e MEDLINE. Resultados: Seleção de 10 artigos que serviram de base para o estudo. Análise de conteúdo e discussão: foram criadas três categorias: avaliação clínica do enfermeiro na Terapia Intravenosa; a criança e o procedimento de punção venosa periférica; e as ações do enfermeiro na assistência à criança com AVP.
