The phenomenological perception of nursing residents about total pain in patients in palliative oncological care: an integrative review

Resumo: | The challenges experienced by nursing residents in the face of total pain in cancer palliative care point to the need for training in the training of these professionals. The objective of this work is to discuss about the phenomenological perception of nursing residents about total pain in patients undergoing palliative cancer care. This is an integrative literature review including articles indexed in the Virtual Health Library (VHL) and CAPS Periodicals Platform. Data were collected between August 2021 to January 2022, in the MEDLINE, IBECS, LILACS, BINACIS, LIS, Web of Science, Embase and SCOPUS databases, following the PRISMA tool. As a result the total number of productions found using the Boolean operators was 2,441 articles, with 183 productions being selected. The final sample consisted of 32 articles for full reading, 10 articles were selected, totaling 10 articles. After analysis, it was observed that the publications involved related aspects, being categorized 03 main themes: "Perception of nursing residents about total pain in palliative cancer care", "Perception of good practices in nursing care about total pain in palliative care" and “Perception of professional training of nursing residents about total pain in palliative cancer care”. A large gap in the topic addressed was identified. All these aspects directly impact the performance of nursing residents in approaching total pain in palliative cancer care due to subjectivity and unpreparedness, making it necessary to address the issue in the training of these professionals. |

El objetivo de este trabajo es discutir la percepción fenomenológica de residentes de enfermería sobre el dolor total en pacientes en cuidados paliativos oncológicos. Es una revisión integrativa de la literatura, incluyendo artículos indexados en la Biblioteca Virtual en Salud (BVS) y Plataforma de Publicaciones Periódicas del CAPS. Los datos se recopilaron entre agosto de 2021 y enero de 2022, en las bases de datos MEDLINE, IBECS, LILACS, BINACIS, LIS, Web of Science, Embase y SCOPUS, siguiendo la herramienta PRISMA. Como resultado, el número total de producciones encontradas utilizando los operadores booleanos fue de 2.441 artículos, siendo seleccionadas 183 producciones. La muestra final estuvo constituida por 32 artículos para lectura completa, se seleccionaron 10 artículos, totalizando 10 artículos. Después del análisis, se observó que las publicaciones involucraron aspectos relacionados, siendo categorizados 03 temas principales: "Percepción de los residentes de enfermería sobre el dolor total en los cuidados paliativos del cáncer", "Percepción de las buenas prácticas en el cuidado de enfermería sobre el dolor total en los cuidados paliativos" y " Percepción de la formación profesional de los residentes de enfermería sobre el dolor total en los cuidados paliativos oncológicos”. Se identificó un gran vacío en el tema abordado. Todos estos aspectos impactan directamente en la actuación de los residentes de enfermería en el abordaje del dolor total en los cuidados paliativos oncológicos debido a la subjetividad y falta de preparación, siendo necesario abordar el tema en la formación de estos profesionales.Os desafios vivenciados pelos residentes de enfermagem diante à dor total nos cuidados paliativos oncológicos, apontam a necessidade de capacitação na formação desses profissionais. O objetivo deste trabalho é discorrer sobre a percepção fenomenológica dos residentes de enfermagem acerca da dor total nos pacientes em cuidados paliativos oncológicos. Trata-se de uma revisão de literatura integrativa incluindo artigos indexados na Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) e Plataforma CAPS Periódicos. Os dados foram coletados entre agosto de 2021 a janeiro de 2022, nas bases de dados MEDLINE, IBECS, LILACS, BINACIS, LIS, Web of Science, Embase e SCOPUS, seguindo a ferramenta PRISMA. Como resultado o total de produções encontradas utilizando os operadores booleanos foi de 2.441 artigos, sendo selecionadas 183 produções. A amostra final foi composta por 32 artigos para leitura na íntegra, sendo selecionados 10 artigos, totalizando 10 artigos. Após análise foi observado que as publicações envolveram aspectos relacionados, sendo categorizados 03 temas principais: “Percepção dos residentes de enfermagem acerca da dor total na atenção paliativa oncológica”, “Percepção de boas práticas na assistência de enfermagem acerca da dor total no cuidado paliativo” e “Percepção da formação profissional dos residentes de enfermagem acerca da dor total na atenção paliativa oncológica”. Identificou-se uma grande lacuna do tema abordado.
