Solid waste management in the environmental Protection Area Estrada-Parque Piraputanga in the districts of Camisão and Piraputanga, Maracaju highlands, Mato Grosso do Sul

Resumo: The Maracaju mountain range is known for its environmental diversity and scenic beauty, in addition to the presence of districts that have a rich history, which were isolated due to the precariousness of access to the region. The government, aiming to protect the natural resources of the region, created the Environmental Protection Area Estrada-Parque Piraputanga, which runs along MS 450, passing through the districts of Camisão and Piraputanga, municipality of Aquidauana, Mato Grosso do Sul. 19 years after the creation of the park-road, the road was paved, aiming to boost tourism in the region and improve the income of the residents of the districts. The improved access provided more traffic on the road and the creation of new businesses, offering new economic options to residents and visitors. However, with the advance of new activities, new problems arise, such as solid waste management. Based on this information, the objective was to investigate whether the asphalt paving was accompanied by planning regarding waste management, which tends to increase with the increase in tourism in these districts, located in the Environmental Protection Area of the municipality of Aquidauana. As a result, it is suggested that the trash cans available in the Districts be adequate, as well as the promotion of the distribution of trash cans at tourist sites and visitor awareness, based on an Environmental Education policy.

El gobierno, con el objetivo de proteger los recursos naturales de la región creó el Área de Protección Ambiental Estrada-Parque Piraputanga, que sigue la MS 450, pasando por los distritos de Camisão y Piraputanga, municipio de Aquidauana, Mato Grosso do Sul. 19 años después de la creación del parque-camino, la carretera se pavimentó para impulsar el turismo en la región y mejorar los ingresos de los residentes de los distritos. La mejora de los accesos supuso un aumento del tráfico en la carretera y la creación de nuevas empresas, ofreciendo nuevas opciones económicas a residentes y visitantes. Sin embargo, con el avance de las nuevas actividades, surgen nuevos problemas, como la gestión de los residuos sólidos. A partir de esta información, el objetivo era investigar si la pavimentación con asfalto iba acompañada de una planificación en cuanto a la gestión de los residuos, que tiende a aumentar con el incremento del turismo en estos barrios, situados en el Área de Protección Ambiental del municipio de Aquidauana. En consecuencia, se sugiere que las papeleras disponibles en los Distritos sean adecuadas, así como promover la distribución de papeleras en los puntos turísticos y la concienciación de los visitantes, basándose en una política de Educación Ambiental.A serra de Maracaju é conhecida por sua diversidade ambiental e belezas cênicas, além da presença de distritos que possuem uma rica história, que estiveram isolados devido a precariedade de acesso à região. O poder público, visando proteger os recursos naturais da região criou a Área de Proteção Ambiental Estrada-Parque Piraputanga, que acompanha a MS 450, passando pelos distritos de Camisão e Piraputanga, município de Aquidauana, Mato Grosso do Sul. Após 19 anos da criação da estrada-parque, ocorreu a pavimentação da estrada, visando impulsionar o turismo na região e melhorar a renda dos moradores dos distritos. O melhor acesso propiciou maior trafego na estrada e a criação de novos empreendimentos, oferecendo novas opções econômicas aos moradores e visitantes. Entretanto, com o avanço das novas atividades, novos problemas surgem, tais como a gestão dos resíduos sólidos. Com base nestas informações, objetivou-se investigar se a pavimentação asfáltica foi acompanhada de um planejamento quanto à gestão dos resíduos, que tendem a aumentar com o incremento do turismo nesses distritos, localizados na Área de Proteção Ambiental do município de Aquidauana.
