Resumo: The present study focuses on the role of nurses in caring for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This theme consists of a current discussion, between the years 2017 and 2022. The time frame was determined to investigate the limitations found in the literature on nurses in the care of children with ASD. The choice of theme was based on the representation of the nursing professional regarding the diagnosis and treatment of autistic children. Thus, the present research was based on academic studies, characterizing the work as a bibliographic, exploratory and qualitative methodology, whose general objective is to highlight the assistance provided to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Regarding the results obtained, it was found that the nurse is the health professional who has more contact with the child. In addition, it can play its role helping the family and the community. However, the literature states that there is a lack of trained nurses. This gap allows us to suggest that it is necessary to create public policies to encourage nurses to train themselves.

Tal temática se consiste em uma discussão atual, entre os anos de 2017 e 2022. O recorte temporal foi determinado para investigar as limitações encontradas na literatura sobre os enfermeiros na assistência a crianças com TEA. A escolha do tema se baseou na representação do profissional de enfermagem frente ao diagnóstico e tratamento da criança autista. Dessa maneira, a presente pesquisa se baseou em estudos acadêmicos, caracterizando o trabalho como metodologia bibliográfica, exploratória e qualitativa, cujo objetivo geral é o de evidenciar a assistência prestada a crianças com Transtorno do espectro autista. Acerca dos resultados obtidos, constatou-se que o enfermeiro é o profissional da saúde que tem mais contato com a criança. Além disso, pode exercer seu papel auxiliando a família e a comunidade. Contudo, a literatura afirma que faltam enfermeiros capacitados. Essa lacuna, permite sugerir que é necessário criar políticas públicas para incentivar o enfermeiro se capacitar.El presente estudio se centra en el papel de las enfermeras en el cuidado de los niños con Trastorno del Espectro Autista. Este tema consiste en una discusión actual, entre los años 2017 y 2022. Se determinó el marco temporal para investigar las limitaciones encontradas en la literatura sobre el enfermero en el cuidado de niños con TEA. La elección del tema se basó en la representación del profesional de enfermería sobre el diagnóstico y tratamiento de niños autistas. Así, la presente investigación se basó en estudios académicos, caracterizando el trabajo como una metodología bibliográfica, exploratoria y cualitativa, cuyo objetivo general es destacar la asistencia brindada a los niños con Trastorno del Espectro Autista. En cuanto a los resultados obtenidos, se encontró que la enfermera es el profesional de la salud que más contacto tiene con el niño. Además, puede desempeñar su papel de ayuda a la familia ya la comunidad. Sin embargo, la literatura afirma que hay una falta de enfermeras capacitadas.
