Evaluación de la adopción de drones en la agricultura en el municipio de Porto Velho, Estado de Rondônia, Brasil

Resumo: Precision agriculture is gaining prominence globally, with Brazil following this trend. Drones stand out among promising technologies, allowing for the collection of precise data on crops in real-time, facilitating quick and accurate decisions for farmers. However, the adoption of these devices faces challenges, such as the lack of knowledge and training among producers. This study aimed to assess the knowledge and adoption of rural producers in Porto Velho, Rondônia, regarding drones in agriculture. The research was conducted in Ramal São Domingos, with structured questionnaires administered to fifteen rural producers. The results showed that a significant portion of producers has knowledge about drones in agriculture, mainly obtained through the internet. However, lack of experience and the absence of training courses were identified as major barriers to adoption. Perceived purposes for drone use include improvements in agricultural work, mapping, and pesticide application, highlighting advantages such as agility, quality, and mapping. It is concluded that there is a growing interest among rural producers in the use of drones in agriculture, but overcoming identified barriers is necessary to promote broader and more effective adoption. Training and education strategies are essential for farmers to fully harness the potential of drones, contributing to increased productivity and efficiency in the field.

Los drones destacan entre las tecnologías prometedoras, permitiendo la recolección de datos precisos sobre los cultivos en tiempo real, facilitando decisiones rápidas y certeras para los agricultores. Sin embargo, la adopción de estos dispositivos enfrenta desafíos, como la falta de conocimiento y capacitación por parte de los productores. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar el conocimiento y la adopción de los productores rurales de Porto Velho, Rondônia, en relación con los drones en la agricultura. La investigación se llevó a cabo en el Ramal São Domingos, con cuestionarios estructurados aplicados a quince productores rurales. Los resultados mostraron que una parte significativa de los productores tiene conocimiento sobre los drones en la agricultura, principalmente obtenido a través de internet. Sin embargo, la falta de experiencia y la ausencia de cursos de capacitación fueron identificadas como principales barreras para su adopción. Los propósitos percibidos para el uso de drones incluyen mejoras en el trabajo agrícola, mapeo y aplicación de defensivos, destacando ventajas como agilidad, calidad y mapeo. Se concluye que hay un interés creciente de los productores rurales en el uso de drones en la agricultura, pero es necesario superar las barreras identificadas para promover una adopción más amplia y efectiva.
