Resumo: Objective: to analyze and describe the scientific evidence on nursing interventions in the control of urinary tract infection associated with indwelling urinary catheters in critical intensive care units. Method: This is an integrative literature review. The following databases were consulted: Embase®, Scopus and the Virtual Health Library (VHL). To maintain consistency in the search for articles, descriptors and keywords were used separately and associated, according to the specific characteristics of each of the databases consulted. Studies published between 2012 and 2022 without language restriction were included. Results: 157 articles were found in the searches in the databases, however, only 19 answered the research question. The results showed that the nursing team must implement HAI control strategies, as they significantly reduce the rate of UTI-AC, carry out professional training programs, involve health professionals in the unit, the inter and multidisciplinary team rounds have a direct impact. in the reduction of days of use of the Indwelling Bladder Catheter (CVD). Conclusion: The nursing team needs to adopt attitudes such as training professionals, using the correct technique for inserting the CVD and its maintenance, encouraging the importance of hand washing, alternating care between the multiprofessional teams, as they are directly linked to the risks and benefits of the CVD procedure, thus directing the individualization of care.

Research, Society and Development2022-03-08info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/2684810.33448/rsd-v11i3.26848Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 No. 3; e57111326848Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 Núm. 3; e57111326848Research, Society and Development; v. 11 n. 3; e571113268482525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/26848/23578Copyright (c) 2022 Paulo Sergio Santos Junior; Cibelle Ferreira Hilário dos Santos; Adenilson Crisostomo Borges Juniorhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSantos Junior, Paulo Sergio Santos, Cibelle Ferreira Hilário dos Borges Junior, Adenilson Crisostomo 2022-03-09T13:44:38Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/26848Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:44:47.091408Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false
