Interdisciplinary care practices through a multiprofessional residence in diabetes

Resumo: | This study describes interdisciplinary care practices developed in a multiprofessional residence in diabetes. This is a descriptive study carried out in an Endocrinology and Diabetes Service. Data collection took place from September to December 2020, using a semi-structured form and direct observation. The sample consisted of 16 healthcare workers and support professionals. The data were analyzed descriptively. The results show that the multiprofessional residency program in diabetes is an ongoing, promising and innovative health education strategy that seeks to aggregate theory and practice during the exercise of in-service activities, and enables the sharing of information in the multidisciplinary team, generating integrated, interdisciplinary, and holistic healthcare. Thus, it is concluded that interdisciplinary care practices enable, in addition to specific training, the expansion of specialized diabetes care in the three levels of healthcare, subsidizing improvements in the quality of life of patients and the training of qualified professionals for the job market. |

Se trata de un estudio descriptivo realizado en un Servicio de Endocrinología y Diabetes. La recolección de datos se llevó a cabo de septiembre a diciembre de 2020, utilizando un formulario semiestructurado y observación directa. La muestra estuvo formada por 16 profesionales de salud y de apoyo. Los datos se analizaron de forma descriptiva. Los resultados muestran que el programa de residencia multiprofesional en diabetes es una intervención de educación continua, prometedora e innovadora que busca sumar teoría y práctica durante el ejercicio de las actividades en servicio y posibilita el intercambio de información en el equipo multiprofesional, generando enfoques integrados, interdisciplinares y holísticos. Así, se concluye que las prácticas asistenciales interdisciplinares posibilitan, además de la formación específica, la expansión de la atención especializada en diabetes en los tres niveles asistenciales, subvencionando mejoras en la calidad de vida de los pacientes y la formación de profesionales cualificados para el mercado laboral.O presente estudo descreve práticas interdisciplinares de cuidado desenvolvidas em uma residência multiprofissional em diabetes. Trata-se de estudo descritivo realizado em um Serviço de Endocrinologia e Diabetes. A coleta de dados ocorreu no período de setembro a dezembro de 2020, por meio de formulário semi-estruturado e observação direta. A amostra foi composta por 16 profissionais da área da saúde e de apoio. Os dados foram analisados de forma descritiva. Os resultados mostram que a residência multiprofissional em diabetes é uma formação permanente em saúde, promissora e inovadora, que busca agregar a teoria e a prática durante o exercício das atividades em serviço e possibilita o compartilhamento de informações na equipe multiprofissional, gerando condutas interdisciplinares, integradas e holísiticas.
