Educational Practices in Oral Health for Adolescents: an integrative review

Resumo: | The educational environment has an important influence on the health of adolescents, becoming an appropriate environment for the development, support and promotion of projects that lead to health, especially oral health, becoming an appropriate space for the construction of healthy habits, when incorporated into a daily-didactic program or project. Thus, the present study is an integrative review that aims to analyze how educational practices in oral health carried out with schoolchildren contribute to changing habits in relation to oral hygiene in adolescents. For this, an integrative review study was carried out between July and December 2021 based on national and international journals addressing issues related to the topic. The databases consulted were: 1. CAPES - Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel and 2. LILACS - Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences. The research involved the following combinations of keywords: (a) oral health AND educational practices AND school; (b) oral health AND educational practices AND adolescents; (c) oral health promotion AND adolescents. From the definitions, criteria and combinations of keywords defined for the study, 363 publications were located. The final sample consisted of 10 articles. It is concluded, therefore, that the educational practices in oral health carried out with schoolchildren determine a positive result in the promotion of oral health for adolescents, reflecting in the increase of their awareness regarding the importance of oral health care. |

Así, el presente estudio es una revisión integradora que tiene como objetivo analizar cómo las prácticas educativas en salud bucal realizadas con escolares contribuyen al cambio de hábitos en relación a la higiene bucal en los adolescentes. Para ello, se realizó un estudio de revisión integradora entre julio y diciembre de 2021 a partir de revistas nacionales e internacionales que abordan temas relacionados con el tema. Las bases de datos consultadas fueron: 1. CAPES - Coordinación para el Perfeccionamiento del Personal de Educación Superior y 2. LILACS - Literatura Latinoamericana y del Caribe en Ciencias de la Salud La investigación involucró las siguientes combinaciones de palabras clave: (a) salud bucal Y prácticas educativas Y escuela ; (b) salud bucal Y prácticas educativas Y adolescentes; c) promoción de la salud bucodental Y de los adolescentes. A partir de las definiciones, criterios y combinaciones de palabras clave definidas para el estudio, se localizaron 363 publicaciones. La muestra final estuvo compuesta por 10 artículos. Se concluye, por tanto, que las prácticas educativas en salud bucal realizadas con escolares determinan un resultado positivo en la promoción de la salud bucal de los adolescentes, reflejándose en el aumento de su conciencia sobre la importancia del cuidado de la salud bucal.O âmbito educacional tem uma importante influência sobre a saúde dos adolescentes, tornando-se um ambiente adequado para o desenvolvimento, o suporte e a promoção de projetos que conduzam a saúde, especialmente a saúde bucal, transformando-se em um espaço apropriado para construção de hábitos saudáveis, quando incorporados em um programa ou projeto cotidiano-didático. Dessa forma, o presente estudo trata-se de uma revisão integrativa que tem como objetivo analisar como as práticas educativas em saúde bucal realizadas com escolares contribuem para mudança de hábitos em relação à higiene oral de adolescentes. Para isso, realizou-se um estudo de revisão integrativa realizado entre julho e dezembro de 2021 com base em periódicos nacionais e internacionais abordando assuntos relacionados ao tema. As bases consultadas foram: 1. CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior e 2. LILACS - Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde. A pesquisa envolveu as seguintes combinações de palavras-chave: (a) saúde bucal AND práticas educativas AND escola; (b) saúde bucal AND práticas educativas AND adolescentes; (c) promoção da saúde bucal AND adolescentes. A partir das definições, critérios e combinações de palavras chaves definidas para o estudo foram localizadas 363 publicações. A amostra final foi composta por 10 artigos.
